Happy birthday to
Alta LaRue Abercrombie Johnson
(Heading out to her 91st birthday party in downtown
Maryville, a place she really loved..especially after
she got to restore her Broadway building "Now this one looks
the BEST!" in 2005)

If she had stayed on this
earth today she would be 93 years young.

Today her
continuing years are being celebrated
in a very special place and the guest list
is heavenly to say the least.

In attendance will be her Mother Alta Aimes Abacrombie,
her daddy Harry, her husband Charles Walker Johnson,
her favorite Aunts and Uncles numerous KKG sorority
sisters and her dogs...Zipper, Penny, Cheyenne, Mike, Tiger, Cody (who she financed one half of a two thousand dollar hip replacement for) his half sister Denver, Spud, Jackson, various rabbits, a pheasant named Ike, an alligator named Bubba and one cat whose name is known only
to LaRue. Dropping in all day with gifts of love will be
families and friends from four bridge clubs along with the hundreds of people who she touched in her short 92 years here.
(When we were shopping for pumpkins (at the age
of 91) she insisted on getting
two...when asked how to use them naturally she came up with
this idea!)

Be still this afternoon and if you knew her you will be
able to hear the laughter, cards shuffling and wine glasses
ringing.

Something you didn't know about
Alta LaRue....
Her name is French and the
translation is High Street.
Although she was born and NAMED
in Wyoming the man she married
(Charles W. Johnson) was born in
Tennessee and grew up on.......
High Street.

I admired your mother's style. She
knew how to wear a hat. I remember
one striking hat she wore about 50 years ago had a pheasant, or pheasant feathers on it. She always
dressed well ,and looked attractive.
